1880 Beef Shipping
At 1880 Beef, we take responsibility for ensuring your order arrives in safe, excellent condition. Our shipping methods are carefully designed and tested so your beef shows up just the way it should.
While our meats typically arrive frozen solid, it’s possible for them to begin thawing during transit. This is completely normal and still much colder than standard refrigerator temperatures. If your order arrives partially thawed, you can easily check its safety:
- Place a digital meat thermometer between two packages and press them together.
- As long as the temperature reads below 50°F, your beef is safe—about the same temperature as meat purchased from a grocery store.
If your shipment is ever lost, delayed, or mishandled by the carrier and arrives spoiled, we will refund your full order amount.
Your confidence matters to us, and we take shipping as seriously as you do.
WHAT TYPE OF SHIPPING DO YOU OFFER?
Our standard shipping is UPS 3 Day Ground. Orders placed in the state of Kansas and areas surrounding Kansas may experience quicker delivery. Please keep note of your package tracking that will be automatically sent to you from UPS.
We also offer UPS Next Day Air and 2 Day Air. These will get the products to you sooner, but there will be a higher shipping fee incurred.
HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR MEATS FROZEN?
Our shipping boxes are heavily insulated and packed with ample coolant to keep your meat frozen for many hours beyond the expected delivery time. Even when delays occur, your order will almost always arrive as cold.
For reference, the USDA states that refrigerated meat is safe at 40°F or below. Our products leave the ranch at approximately –10°F, ensuring maximum cold retention throughout transit.
During the summer, when temperatures can exceed 100°F, some orders may experience slight or partial thawing. Because of this, the packages may not feel ice-cold to the touch. This is completely normal. Even a small increase in temperature can make the exterior feel softer while the product inside remains safely frozen. These items can be refrozen with little to no impact on quality.
To put it in perspective: when you purchase meat from a grocery store, it’s typically just cool by the time you get home—and we don’t think twice about its safety. Your 1880 Beef order will arrive significantly colder than that.
Pro tip: Larger orders stay frozen longer than smaller ones, thanks to better thermal mass and insulation!
In the unlikely event of severe weather, high order volumes during holidays, or accidents during shipping, 1880 Beef cannot be held responsible, as these circumstances are beyond our control.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that someone is available at the shipping address to receive the package, or that it can be safely left at the delivery location. Please note:
- UPS will not leave packages at multi-dwelling buildings with a shared entrance.
- UPS will not leave packages in areas they deem unsafe.
In most cases, UPS will attempt a second-day redelivery. If that attempt fails, the package will need to be picked up from the local FedEx facility.
We do not require signatures on our packages, so the shipper will always leave the package when possible.
WHEN AM I ABLE TO HAVE MY STEAKS DELIVERED?
Our standard shipping days are Monday through Wednesday. Due to guidance from our partners at UPS. Any orders placed after 4pm on Wednesday will be shipped the following Monday.
